Abstract:

Operation Sindoor represents a watershed moment in India’s evolving security and diplomatic landscape. Conducted with precision, restraint, and technological sophistication, it signaled India’s transition from a policy of strategic restraint to one of assertive yet responsible engagement. The operation has not only reinforced India’s regional deterrence but also elevated its global image as a credible security actor in the multipolar world order. This paper examines the broader strategic, geopolitical, and diplomatic consequences of Operation Sindoor. Drawing on realist and constructivist perspectives, it explores how the operation reflects India’s growing capacity for calibrated power projection, its use of indigenous defense technologies, and its impact on international alignments and security perceptions. The study concludes that Operation Sindoor symbolizes the emergence of a confident India — one that seeks recognition not merely as a regional power but as a strategic pillar in global politics.
