Abstract:
The Indo-Pacific has emerged as one of the most significant geopolitical regions of the twenty-first century, encompassing vital sea lanes, economic corridors, and strategic partnerships. India's Indo-Pacific Strategy has evolved as a comprehensive framework aimed at promoting a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based regional order. The strategy reflects India's growing role as a major maritime power and its commitment to regional stability, economic cooperation, and maritime security. This study examines the evolution of India's Indo-Pacific Strategy and analyzes its implications for regional security in the contemporary geopolitical environment. The research explores India's strategic partnerships, maritime initiatives, defense cooperation, regional institutions, and responses to emerging security challenges. The findings indicate that India's Indo-Pacific approach strengthens regional security through enhanced maritime cooperation, strategic balancing, economic connectivity, and multilateral engagement. However, challenges such as great-power rivalry, maritime disputes, China's expanding influence, and regional security complexities continue to shape the effectiveness of India's strategy. The study concludes that India's Indo-Pacific vision contributes significantly to maintaining peace, stability, and security in the region while enhancing its position as a responsible stakeholder in global affairs.
