Abstract:

India is a democratic country. In a democracy, everyone should have equal rights irrespective of caste, creed, and religion. The Constitution of India guarantees equal rights to all its citizens, irrespective of their religion, caste, creed, or sex. There are three types of government in India. Central Government, State Government, and Local Self-Government. A brief overview of women's participation in government at these different levels will be discussed in this article.
