The Psychoanalytic Approach to Literature

Abstract
In the post-modern period, we are applying psychoanalytic theory to literature as well as in our daily life. For this, we are making use of Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, which is based on our personality and psychotherapy. This theory shows the significance and the interplay of personality components known as id, ego and superego. Though criticism was there from the beginning, the application of psychological criticism was seen in the twentieth century.
