Positive Education: A Holistic Approach– Nature and Significance

Abstract

Positive education is a holistic approach to education that promotes mental health, social skills, and lifelong learning among the leaners. The presented article focuses on the meaning, nature and significance of positive education. Positive education integrates positive psychological intervention to enhance well-being social skills, happiness and overall wellbeing among the students. This philosophy in education is about utilising the strengths of a student and teachers, the resilience, the holistic view of success beyond academic excellence. There are many significances of positive education as it encourages positive emotions, engagement, relationships, and flourishing, focusing on individual strengths, resilience, individual strengths, resilience and holistic success creating a supportive community and empowering students to make good decisions that conquer adversity, contribute positively to society and a holistic understanding of success. It promotes equity and encourage a conducive culture that involves strategic integration and cross-disciplinary collaboration When educational institutions practice positive education, it has the power to drive positive change for educational outcomes. Hence, overall, positive education seeks to improve happiness, optimism, self-confidence, and social and emotional competence, which result in greater achievement among the individuals in the educational setting.
