Abstract

Background: The global incidence of diabetes mellitus among young adults has increased substantially over the past two decades, creating an emerging public health challenge. Early-onset diabetes is associated with accelerated disease progression, premature cardiovascular complications, reduced quality of life, and increased healthcare expenditure. Although international guidelines emphasise early diagnosis and comprehensive metabolic management, limited literature has explored the integration of individualised homoeopathic assessment within multidisciplinary diabetes care.

Objective: This protocol describes the methodology for a systematic review that will evaluate the current evidence on early detection and integrated management of diabetes mellitus in young adults and proposes an evidence-informed Homoeopathic Clinical Management Framework for individualized patient care.

Methods: The review will be conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA 2020) guidelines. Electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar will be systematically searched. Eligible studies will include randomized controlled trials, observational studies, systematic reviews, clinical guidelines, and relevant homoeopathic literature addressing early-onset diabetes mellitus in adults aged 18–40 years. Study selection, data extraction, and methodological quality assessment will be performed independently by two reviewers using standardized tools appropriate to the study design.

Expected Outcomes: The review aims to synthesize current evidence regarding early diagnosis, risk assessment, lifestyle interventions, pharmacological management, and the potential role of individualized homoeopathic care. Based on the evidence synthesis, an evidence-informed Homoeopathic Clinical Management Framework will be proposed to support clinical decision-making and identify priorities for future research.
