Abstract

Background: The neuroendocrine system serves as the principal integrative network coordinating communication between the central nervous system, endocrine glands, immune responses, and peripheral organs to maintain physiological homeostasis. Dysregulation of neuroendocrine pathways contributes significantly to the pathogenesis of endocrine disorders, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid dysfunction, polycystic ovary syndrome, adrenal diseases, and pituitary disorders. Recent advances in molecular physiology, systems biology, and psychoneuroimmunology have enhanced understanding of complex regulatory mechanisms governing endocrine health. Constitutional homoeopathy similarly conceptualizes disease as a dynamic disturbance of systemic regulation, emphasizing biological individuality, constitutional susceptibility, and restoration of functional equilibrium.

Objective: To critically review the current understanding of neuroendocrine regulation in endocrine disorders by integrating concepts from contemporary human physiology with constitutional homoeopathic philosophy and to examine evidence-informed therapeutic perspectives relevant to integrative healthcare.

Methods: A narrative literature review was undertaken using peer-reviewed publications, standard textbooks of human physiology, endocrinology, biochemistry, systems biology, and classical homoeopathic literature. Scientific evidence concerning neuroendocrine regulation, molecular signaling pathways, biological homeostasis, psychoneuroimmunology, and constitutional homoeopathy was critically synthesized. Literature was identified from major biomedical databases and authoritative academic sources, with emphasis on conceptual relevance, scientific quality, and interdisciplinary applicability.

Results:The reviewed literature demonstrates that endocrine function depends upon highly coordinated interactions among neuroendocrine signaling pathways, molecular mediators, immune mechanisms, and adaptive physiological networks. Contemporary concepts of systems biology, biological homeostasis, and personalized medicine exhibit meaningful conceptual parallels with constitutional principles of individualized assessment, susceptibility, and holistic regulation. While mechanistic evidence supporting constitutional homoeopathy remains limited, existing literature supports continued interdisciplinary exploration of integrative physiological models and patient-centered therapeutic frameworks.

Conclusion: Neuroendocrine regulation represents a dynamic and multifaceted process essential for maintaining endocrine health and systemic physiological balance. Integrating contemporary physiological knowledge with constitutional homoeopathic perspectives offers a valuable conceptual framework for advancing interdisciplinary education, research, and evidence-informed clinical reasoning. Future investigations employing biomarker-based methodologies, systems biology approaches, and translational research designs are required to further elucidate the relationships between neuroendocrine physiology, constitutional characteristics, and individualised therapeutic responses.
