Career Counseling for Resilience and Emotional Well-being: Skills and Responsibilities of Counselors

Abstract
Career counselling is an important developmental process that helps students make informed decisions about their future. Professional counsellors recommend appropriate professional options and promote self-awareness and understanding of the workplace by assessing individuals' interests, abilities, values, and personality qualities. Effective career advising programs are critical in today's fast-changing employment market, when students face a plethora of career options and struggle to match aspirations with capabilities. Career counsellors play an important role in influencing students' futures by promoting career resilience and emotional well-being. This study investigates the important skills and duties that career counsellors must have in order to effectively guide students as they navigate academic and professional landscapes. Using secondary data, the study demonstrates the transforming impact of career counselling on students' decision-making and self-awareness. The main conclusions highlight the importance of empathy, emotional intelligence, and adaptability in counselling. In order to help students' overall development and employment performance, the study highlights the significance of structured career advice programs in schools.
