Abstract:

The abscopal effect is a phenomenon that occurs during the treatment of a metastatic cancer when the localized treatment of the tumor causes not only a shrinkage of the aforementioned, but also a shrinkage of tumors outside the scope of the localized treatment plan .The RT treatment also induced healing of metastases distant from the radiotherapy treatment plan, causing the abscopal effect even in lung and bone lesions with new diagnostic findings, confirming how Immunotherapy before and during the RT treatment makes the abscopal radiobiological effect not always predictable.
