Abstract

The prevalence of internet-connected devices in workplaces has facilitated a surge in "cyberloafing," where employees engage in non-work-related internet activities during work hours [1]. While sometimes benign, excessive cyberloafing can significantly impact productivity and organizational efficiency.[5] This study examines types of cyberloafing, the motivations behind it, its effects on workplace productivity, and potential countermeasures, drawing on recent data and research to highlight patterns and suggest effective mitigation strategies.
