Abstract

The present paper presents a straightforward approach to solving a two-stage flow shop scheduling problem with Python. The aim is to identify a desirable strategy that incurs minimal total cost of renting machines, based on a given rental policy, and taking into account the time needed to transport between the two stages. This is done by a simple algorithm developed and run in Python. Also, a case study is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
